The Steilacoom Historical School District No. 1 confirmed reports to South Puget Sound News on Friday, Feb. 10, 2012  that a possible second child luring incident took place this week in the District.

Celeste Johnston with SHSD said in an email that Steilacoom Public Safety Detective Rodriguez informed the District that a report was made that a student who was dropped off by the SHSD Activity bus had been offered a ride by a man on Thursday, February 9, 2012.  The student declined the ride and left the scene. The incident occurred near the corner of Pacific and Rainier in Steilacoom.

The Steilacoom School District wants families to remember that students should walk to and from bus stops with a partner, and that parents are encouraged to wait with their children at the bus stop. Just as important, report any suspicious activity to a trusted adult, or call 911.

According to Steilacoom Public Safety Chief Ron Schaub, the suspect was described as a white male in his 40′s with brown and grey hair, with a mustache and soul patch on his face. The suspect was driving a red mini van. Schaub said if anyone has more information about this incident to contact Steilacoom, Lakewood or DuPont police.
