2nd Stryker Brigade Deployment & Colors Casing Ceremony Friday

The 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division will conduct a Deployment and Casing of the Colors Ceremony Friday, March 30 at Watkins Parade Field at 10 a.m. to symbolize the unit’s transition from peacetime operations to combat operations in Southern Afghanistan this spring.

This will be the 2nd Stryker Brigade’s first deployment to Afghanistan.

The brigade last deployed to Iraq in 2006 and was inactivated in 2008 shortly after returning stateside. In 2010 the brigade was reactivated and moved from Fort Carson, Colo. to JBLM, Wash.

In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony location is Wilson Gym, located at JBLM Lewis North.
