The National Wildlife Federation, in partnership with the Pierce Conservation District and with support from the Green Tacoma Partnership, is excited to offer the Habitat Stewards Training course March 6 – 27, 2013.
Over the course of four evening classes and two field trips, participants will learn from local experts about natural resource issues and concepts such as backyard habitat, local ecology and native plants, stormwater run-off, and marine environments.
After completing the course, participants will become certified NWF habitat stewards and must provide 30 hours of service educating others or assisting in the creation, restoration, or preservation of wildlife habitat within a year of completing their training.
Classes will be held on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 – 8 p.m. in Tacoma. Saturday field trips will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 16 and 23. The course fee is $30.
