Every year, DuPont gives from the heart during its annual food drive benefitting FISH Food Banks of Pierce County. This year, organizers are hoping the residents of DuPont can match the record donation given last year, which was over 6,600 pounds of food.

Bags for food donations will start showing up at your home on May 3, 2014. Food bags will be picked up on Saturday, May 10 starting at 9 a.m. Organizers ask that you leave your donation where it can be seen from the street if it is on your porch, or if your bag was left by your garage door you can leave it there for pick up.

Baby food, Beef chili or stew, canned vegetables, cereal, tuna, canned soups, peanut butter, pork and beans, spaghetti, Mac & Cheese and pet food are all needed items for donation.

FISH also needs non-food items including: toothpaste, soap, shampoo, laundry detergent, diapers, toilet paper, feminine hygiene products, toothbrushes, combs and hair brushes.

Organizers are always looking for volunteers to either help put out the bags or pick them up. You can either call Terry at 253-534-5274 or 253-964-2446 to arrange to pick up a section for delivery or you can meet us at the Fire Department Saturday, 3 May at 9:00 AM.
